Website design that starts on the phone and works in Arabic
I design and build websites for businesses in Lebanon — company sites, clinics, schools and education centres, restaurants, workshops, shops. Every page is drawn for the phone first, because that is where most of your visitors will see it, and the Arabic is designed in its own right rather than mirrored from the English.
Bilal Malass designs and builds custom websites for businesses in Lebanon, working from Minieh in the North with clients in Tripoli, across the North Governorate, in Akkar and elsewhere in the country. Each design is made for the business rather than taken from a theme, drawn for phones first, and built in Next.js by the same person who designed it, in Arabic, English or both. Business websites start from $300 and sites with an admin panel from $500; most land between $300 and $1,000, and a written quote comes before any work starts.
Website design here often means a theme bought online with a logo dropped into it. It looks fine in the screenshot it was sold with, and then the real content goes in: a menu with forty items, a phone number nobody can find, Arabic text the theme was never drawn for. Design is the stage where those decisions get made on purpose instead of by accident.
The phone comes first. Most people who look up a local business do it on a phone, often on mobile data and usually in a hurry. So the first version of every page is drawn at phone width — what a visitor sees before scrolling, where the call and WhatsApp buttons sit, how large the text is — and the desktop layout is worked out from that, not the other way round.
Arabic is designed, not flipped. A right-to-left page needs its own decisions: which way arrows point, how numbers and English words sit inside an Arabic sentence, which Arabic typeface pairs with the English one, and how much line spacing the script needs. Reversing an English layout with a single setting gets about half of that right. This site is bilingual and built that way, so you can judge the result directly.
The person who designs the page builds it. When a designer hands a mock-up to a developer, what usually fails to survive the handover is the detail — spacing, how a menu behaves on a small screen, what happens when a real title is longer than the one in the mock-up. Here there is no handover, so the design is shaped by what the code will actually do and nothing is lost in between.
It is fast because it is not a page builder. Page builders and multipurpose themes ship the code for every feature they offer, whether your site uses it or not. A custom design ships only what each page needs, which is most of why it opens quickly on a phone.
And on sites from $500 you can change it yourself. A custom admin panel lets you edit text, swap photos, update prices and publish, in Arabic or English, without paying for each small change or waiting on someone else's schedule.
What the design includes
A layout drawn for the phone first
Every page is designed at phone width before desktop, with call, WhatsApp and directions where a thumb reaches them.
Arabic, English or both
A right-to-left layout designed for Arabic, Arabic and English typefaces chosen to work together, and each language on its own address so Google shows the right one.
Your brand, applied consistently
Your logo, colours and photography used the same way on every page. If there is no brand guide yet, a simple one is set out as part of the design.
The pages your business actually needs
Home, services, about and contact with a map — and beyond that, whatever fits the business: a menu, a price list, a booking form, a gallery.
An admin panel, on sites from $500
Change text, photos and prices yourself, in either language, without touching code. The $300 starting price is for a site without one.
Search-engine groundwork
Page titles and descriptions, structured data for your business, a sitemap and fast pages — done during the build rather than sold back to you afterwards.
How a design project runs
A short brief
What the business does, who it is for, what a visitor should do on the site, and two or three websites you like and why. In person in the North, or online.
Structure before style
A plan of the pages and what goes on each, agreed before anything is designed, so the design is built around your real content rather than placeholder text.
The design, phone first
The main pages designed at phone and desktop width and shown to you as working pages you can open on your own phone, not as static pictures.
Build and fill
The site is built and your content goes in. Where the site has an admin panel, it is set up so you can change things yourself from day one.
Launch, then check
Domain, hosting, Search Console, and a look at the live site on real phones. Anything that trips visitors up gets fixed.
What website design costs
Business websites start from $300, and sites with an admin panel you edit yourself start from $500, in US dollars. Most websites I design and build land between $300 and $1,000, and scope decides where in that range a project lands. A larger platform with accounts or bookings can run above it. These are the things that actually move the number:
- How many pages there are, and how many of them need a genuinely different layout
- Whether the site is in one language, or in Arabic and English
- Whether your text and photos exist, or need producing
- Whether you need forms, bookings, or a menu or price list you update yourself
- Whether you have a logo and brand colours, or those need setting out first
- Whether this is a new site, or a redesign of one with rankings worth keeping
Common questions about website design
How much does website design cost in Lebanon?
Business websites start from $300, and sites with an admin panel you edit yourself start from $500. Most land between $300 and $1,000, and scope decides where — a five-page site for a clinic is very different from a bilingual site with bookings, which can run above it. Tell me what you need and you will get a clear written quote before any work starts.
How do I get a website made for my business?
Describe what the business does and what the site should do — on the contact page, by email or on WhatsApp. You get a written scope and price first; then the structure and design are agreed, the site is built and filled with your content, and it goes live once you have checked it on your own phone. A company, a clinic, a school or an education centre goes through the same steps.
Do you use templates or themes?
No. Each design is made for the business it is for. Templates are not wrong in themselves, but they are designed around someone else's content, and the gaps show as soon as yours goes in. If a template genuinely suits your budget better, I will tell you so.
Can the website be in Arabic and English?
Yes. Arabic pages are laid out right-to-left with an Arabic typeface made for the screen, rather than an English layout reversed by a setting, and each language has its own address so Google can show the right one. This site is built the same way, so you can see the result before deciding.
Will the design work well on phones?
It is designed on the phone first. Every page is drawn at phone width before desktop and tested on real phones before launch, because that is where most visitors to a local business arrive.
How long does website design take?
A focused landing page can be ready in days. A full business site with a content-management system usually takes a few weeks, and most of the variation comes from content: a site waiting on text and photos waits for as long as they take.
Can you redesign my existing website?
Yes. A redesign keeps what already works — your content, and the addresses Google already ranks — and replaces what does not. Old addresses are redirected to the new ones, so the ranking they have earned is carried across rather than lost.
